Inspiring Light: American Landscapes Pt 1

Arkansas freeway Memphis to Little Rock Arkansas

I spent 3 months in America this year with Monkey Baas Hitlers DaughterWe toured theatres in the mid-west, south and south east. Plus we got to spend 10 days in Alaska.

The country in America is amazing. If you drive just a few hours down the road the landscape can shift dramatically. I constantly found the light inspiring as it played across all these different spaces. Much to the chargrin of my co-driver in the truck I insisted on taking a whole lot of photographs.

I’ve divided this series into four parts.

Part 2 is here.

Twelfth Night Everglades timelapse

A time lapse video of the lighting focus and plot for Sport For Joves 2012/2013 Shakespeare in the park season. This is taken at our second venue, the Everglades Gardens, Leura, NSW, Australia. 2.1.13
The biggest (but most satisfying) challenge of lighting this work is the sunset. As the sun goes down through the play the quality of the light changes. I took this timelapse in order to record that transition.
In 2013 The plays are running at the Everglades until the 19th of Jan.. For more details see sportforjove.com.au
